Flowers in the House
It is Flowers in the House Monday over at Jane's SmallbutCharming house. The last Monday of the month we bring in flowers and make our homes' more lovely and charming. In my case it was first removing all the dead arrangements that have been here far too long. Most ran out of water but hey when you are really busy planting, picking and planning for next year, stuff gets missed.
Anyway here is a few arrangements around the house, they look and smell better than the others.
My first autumn colors arrangement. Does this mean that it is time for nesting. Getting out all the cool autumn decor and getting cozy. Enjoying the smell of baked apples, scented candles and getting snuggly under fuzzy blankets. Seems early but I am starting to feel it. Check out all the other wonderful arrangements over at Jane's house.
ohhh these are just loverly. What a selection of flowers, wonderful containers and the full array of design styles.
ReplyDeleteHats off to you Denise. These are spectacular!
Thanks for coming to the party.
Now back to my weeds.

Thanks so much for saying such nice things. Now, back to my many unwashed buckets, seed trays and vases. The unglamourous side of pretty flowers.
DeleteYour zinnias are glorious!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Jen!
Deletemmm lovely!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Alicia!
DeleteThese are just gorgeous! I can't figure out which I like best, what a wonderful display. Ok, I'll go with the zinnias and the matching vase...no wait, the autumn colors...hmmm but...oh forget it. All!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Amelia. I enjoyed your comment! So when are you moving to the Willamette Valley? for the pinots...
DeleteThe colors are all fabulous together. Those zinnias.....gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! The colors are nicer in person, camera is old and doesn't take great shots. But thanks!
DeleteI love zinnias--takes me right back to my childhood--and you've done a nice variety of arrangements with them. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteNot sure how the limelight hydrangeas would hold up to your dry wind. If it isn't too hot and/or if they were watered occasionally, they might work. They have a woody stem so they don't get droopy like the endless summer variety. You might want to try a Little Lamb which is a smaller variety than Limelight.
Thanks for stopping by!
Steve
I love zinnias - that gorgeous pink arrangement in your second photo is just so happy. And now that I've read your earlier post about how easy and hard-working zinnias are you've inspired me to get some planted for this summer.
ReplyDeleteThanks Amanda! The little pink and green vase was my grandmother's and she and my mom were the inspiration in growing flowers, gardens and working with colorful arts. I think they both would be pleased in what I am doing. The zinnias were one of the first flowers I tried to grow as a young girl. Give them a try, I don't think they will disappoint.
