Weddings!!
It is the first few days of June and the talk is about weddings, actually wedding flowers. Do we do wedding flowers...Can we buy wedding flowers.... What flowers will you have in late July, August 3rd, September....on and on, happy wedding flower talk. It is fun to hear the plans, this gal wants pinks and whites, while that gal wants all colors except for pink. It is wild to chat with so many gals about their wedding plans while selling flowers at a market. It becomes a dizzy array of ideas, suggestions and tips of how their flowers can be designed for their special day. Sometimes it becomes such a crazy confusion of ideas that it makes it hard to remember what I am growing and when exactly it will be available. When put on the spot, I draw a blank and remember the varieties and other great ideas later on in the day. That why it is so nice to later meet up and make plans. We even have a few gals who are planning to show up in on their wedding day and make some bouquets at the market. Brave gals... but they give us a heads up and we will be prepared with their colors or style. That will be a crazy day for sure. So today was filled with happy wedding flower talk. It is going to be a fun season of flower designs.
Here is the first wedding we did on Mother's day weekend this year.
Much joy and happiness to Cierra and Nathan on their beautiful future together. Thank you, I so enjoyed our happy wedding flower talk. I look forward to the next wedding that is coming up soon!

A Beautiful September Wedding
We were asked to do the personal flowers for a lovely couple who were getting married on the 22nd of September. The bride was open to any flowers as long as the colors of coral and pink were included. She was wonderful and generous to work with and we loved putting her bridal flowers together. They were married at a local historic farm and garden in Brownsville, Oregon. The Atavista Farm is a lovely venue for weddings.
The bridesmaids' bouquets were of dahlias, dianthus, wax flowers and hypericum berrries. The bridal bouquet was similar in flowers with the addition of a bright sunflower.
For the groom and groomsmen boutonnieres we went with setaria, craspedia, hypericum berries and greens. They were wrapped with burlap ribbon and twine.
Corsages were made for the moms with pom dahlias, small zinnias, gomphrena, wax flower, dianthus and greens. They sparkled with pretty coral ribbon.
The flower girl carried a basket of rose petals and wore a floral bracelet made of small zinnias, pom dahlias, wax flower, dianthus and gomphrena. It was dainty and girly and just right for an 8 year old flower girl.
Everything was boxed up and delivered to the farm on the rehearsal evening. The bride was happy and excited and paid us the ultimate compliment that we wait to hear.... "It is just what I wanted!!" So love to hear that!
We wish the lovely couple a wonderful marriage full of delights, happiness and love!

A Beautiful Country Wedding
We had the wonderful job of providing wedding flowers to a lovely couple who were to be married at the family farm. What a beautiful setting. We did their bouquets, boutonnieres and corsages and also provided bulk flowers for them to arrange into the real old fashion mason jars that they have had for years. Here are some photos we took of the flowers.

Lots of beautiful flowers for a lovely couple. The wedding took place on a perfect sunny, warm September 15th here in Oregon. When I get some photos from the ceremony I will share them with you.

A Country Vintage Wedding
We provided wedding flowers for a lovely couple who were to be married in a historic barn here in the Willamette Valley of Oregon. Her style was simple, wild flower, country and vintage. Her primary focus was on having a beautiful reception for her family and friends. She loved flowers and wanted the tables to have lots of flowers on them. The tables were set for 8 places, with a burlap runner and 3 mason jars on each table. Her dishes were a collection of her grandmother's china and other vintage china collected by a favorite uncle who loved going to garage and antique sales. The dishes on each table were different so we coordinated the flowers to go with each table. We did 27 mason jars of flowers for her. She was also going to have a few very special little vases on the tables also with just a stem or two of tiny flowers. We provided her with 100 stems of little tiny zinnias, feverfew, and grasses. Eight of the vases were wired so that they would hang on shepard's hooks along the aisle.
We also provided the personal wedding flowers for the happy couple. She was to wear a simple ivory gown, her maid's dress was a blue dress, and there were three young girls dressed in white summer dresses with hot pink sandals. The bouquets were designed accordingly.
The groom and best man wore simple boutonnieres and three special women wore three simple corsages. All were wrapped with burlap, burlap ribbon and burlap twine. Perfect for the country vintage theme.
We had a blast growing, cutting and designing for this wedding. We look forward to actual ceremony photos, to see how it all came together. We will keep you posted.

Wedding Flowers
Something about this weekend is special for weddings. Maybe it is that here in Oregon it probably won't be raining this weekend. Maybe it is the Perseid Meteor shower and it is magical to be wed under falling stars. Something about this weekend was so special that many lovely couples promised to love and cherish each other forever. Including us 29 years ago.
A tease of the wedding flowers that we provided for the many happy couples this weekend. More photos will be coming soon.
So Happy Wedding Day and Congratulations to all the wonderful couples. Happy Anniversary to my hubbie Tony, thanks for the long days of cutting flowers for me and the many wonderful years. No need to get me flowers for our anniversary, I am surrounded by beautiful flowers everyday!
